I knew some day somebody would arrive along here and wonder what the story is with the flip flops at the top of my blog. Well they’re not just any flip flop, they’re Havaianas i.e. flipflops that cost F all in Brazil where they’re made and cost a small fortune (Approx ???30) in Ireland. I used to buy a pair on holiday abroad and the photo you see tells the story of a flipflop fetish gone too far.

Myself and a friend were heading camping/island-hopping around Greece for a couple of years??weeks??and duly brought a few changes of footwear each… Most of which happened to be??Havaianas. Of course,??Havaianas inn Greece cost a hell of a lot less than Ireland so we went just a little bit mad and bought some more over there.

Of course our tent we’d lugged over from Ireland had gotten broken in transit so we ended up staying in a “dog kennel” two bed hut on campsites for the same price as it would’ve cost to pitch a tent, and that my dears is why you see 10 pairs of??Havaianas in a row on my blog… Incidentally the five pairs to the left of the picture are all mine. Where are they now I ask? I’ve lost some and gained some since then, and not once have I ever been tempted to buy a pair in Ireland. Twice the price for something that costs half nothing in South America. Come on!
