At the top of a hill east of Bonmahon on the Copper Coast is an old copper mine, at a place called Tankardstown. It’s one of my favourite vantage points for grabbing a photo of the Copper Coast.

It’s along this beautiful stretch you’ll find hidden away just off the road, the Arthand home to art classes and workshops.

It’s also home to a monthly event called WORDS which I have been hearing about for ages.

It gives people the opportunity to do readings/performances of their own work and others in a beautiful space.

We were treated to the most magical magic show from some children as well as some great poetry and writing from the people in attendance.

The special guest for the evening was  Welsh artist and performer Cheryl Beer performing her ‘Moving Mountain’ Story and Mantra.

I’ll definitely go again and bring some new writing to try out on the audience.
